Shannon and Bryan are one of those couples who have serious wanderlust! Being the center of attention for a big event wasn’t something that they wanted. It didn’t really feel right to them and they wanted to spend their wedding day in a more meaningful and intimate way. They wanted their special day to feel true to them in a beautiful place. So, they opted for an intimate Adirondack Mountain elopement!
It was important to them to find an elopement location in the Adirondacks that was easy to get to, but had incredible views. They got engaged at Acadia National Park at the summit of a mountain during their first day at the park. So, it seemed fitting that they shared private vows on top of a mountain with views for miles. They love to hike and explore the outdoors and we’re up for a short hike in their wedding attire! Shannon and Brianne also wanted multiple locations for a variety of mountain views.
Whiteface Elopement Pictures
Up near Lake Placid is a beautiful town called Wilmington. It’s the home of Whiteface Memorial Highway which leads to the summit of Whiteface Mountain. This was the first stop for their Adirondack Mountain elopement. We took the elevator up to the top first thing in the morning. For a while, we had the entire summit to ourselves! They had never been to Whiteface, so I let them take some time to explore and soak in their surroundings, which overlooked Lake Placid. This first elopement location was purely to get some beautiful photos along with a little bit of an adventure.
Adirondack Mountain Wedding Ceremony
Shannon and Bryan wanted a location for their mountain ceremony that was relatively easy to get to, but still offered incredible scenery. They also wanted a place that we could go that was mostly private since they were sharing their vows. Shannon also decided that she wanted to hike in her wedding clothes so it needed to be a simple hike. I scouted the perfect spot for their intimate ceremony! We found a hidden spot at the summit that was completely private. They took their time, sharing their vows and soaking in the beautiful foliage during their Fall elopement near Lake Placid.
After their outdoor ceremony, we took some time taking their bride and groom wedding pictures. Before we hiked back down, they celebrated their wedding day with a champagne toast! After that, we gathered all of our items and headed out for one last stop before wrapping up their day at NewVida Preserve.
Covered Bridge in the Adirondacks
Bryan is an engineer and Shannon loves Bridges. So we went to one final location in Jay, NY with a beautiful covered bridge! They height down a short butte path and climbed on some rocks to be surrounded by water with this beautiful wooden bridge in the background. This location was a very last-minute addition, but Shannon really wanted some beautiful photos with a covered bridge. Mission accomplished!
