Fall Foliage Elopement in the Adirondacks

Hailey and Branko decided to celebrate their wedding day in the Adirondack mountains. After meeting on hinge they hit it off right away and have been adventuring together ever since. They were looking for something laid back and fun without the stress of planning a big wedding. As outdoor enthusiasts, hiking a mountain to share their vows was high on their list. This bride and groom wanted to elope in a way that was simple and unique to them. After getting to know them a little, I suggested a few easy hikes in Lake Placid with great views. They settled on Cobble Lookout near Whiteface mountain and we then began planning the rest of their fall foliage elopement in the Adirondacks.

An Easy Hike with Great Views in Lake Placid

Having the backdrop of their wedding ceremony be the high peak mountains of the ADK region was a must for Hailey and Branko. In addition to a great view, they also wanted to have as much privacy as possible. Cobble Lookout hike in Wilmington, NY was the perfect place for an easy hike with stunning mountain views.

This hiking trail, although it can be muddy in some spots, is quite simple and just over a mile long. It’s the perfect tail for eloping couples who want to hike in the wedding attire rather than hiking with their elopement dress and suit strapped to their backpacks. So after Hailey’s hair and makeup were finished by ADK Bri, a phenomenal makeup artist and hair stylist in Lake Placid, we headed out to the trail head.

They spent a few moments taking in the view from the summit before we started their wedding portraits. Hailey and Branko eloped in the middle of September and because of the elevation they were excited to see some Fall colors during their Fall foliage elopement in the Adirondack mountains. I planned their elopement so we had the best light for their portraits and mountain wedding ceremony!

Becuase Hailey and Branko decided on a weekday elopement, we were lucky enough, with careful planning of course, to have the summit all to ourselves! Hailey and Branko took turns sharing their emotion and heartfelt vows. The setting was surreal! A beautiful bride and a handsome groom on top of a mountain getting married in the forest. It was just dreamy for a Fall Elopement in the Adirondacks!

After they shared their first kiss as husband and wife, we took more portraits around the mountain top. Taking in the the start of the landscape changing from green to lush yellows and oranges of Autumn. We then hiked back down the mountain and went to their Airbnb for a bonfire, dessert and champagne!

The perfect ending to a Fall Foliage Elopement in the Adirondack Mountains

Upon arriving back at their cozy Airbnb the newlyweds started a campfire to end their fall foliage elopement in the Adirondacks. They added a super special touch to their adventure elopement by asking their family and friends to write them love letters for them to read on their wedding day. Many happy and love filled tears were shed by both, Branko and Hailey as they read allowed the love expresses by their closest people. It was the perfect way to incorporate their family members while still spending the day together.

It was then time for a sweet wedding treat from their favorite bakery, Cake Street Sweets, close to where they live. Their wedding day dessert looked so delicious I drove down to Cohoes, NY and picked up some treats for myself the very next day! Champagne was popped, poured and shared before they celebrated their first dance as Husband and Wife underneath the lights by the fire.
