Playing dress up was one of our most favorite things to do at my grandma’s house. We were there quite often it seemed which meant we played dress up a ton! There was a tote in one of her guest bedrooms behind a white, accordion style closet door. I’m positive that when ever my grandma saw Katie and I go into that room she knew we would come back out in some sort of flouncy outfit from that tote.
I have no idea what these outfits were used for before we got them but I can assure they got lots of good use! These two gymnastic style outfits were quite popular between us. We’d put these on and ask my grandma to get out the two foam mattresses she had. she would bring them out into the living room which was connected to another sitting room that was willed with beautiful natural light. From one end of that room we would sprint towards the mattresses, throw out hands to the floor, kick our legs into the air right before hitting the mattress and then would flop on them as if we just completed the worlds most elaborate gymnastic move. We would do thing for HOURS!
Front flips, jumps, cartwheels you name it, we attempted it. My poor grandma never got anything done because we constantly called her name to come watch us perform. The sequins sparkled in the light that poured into the sitting room and we were sure to dance around watching the reflections on the walls. Gosh, those were the days! Don’t get me wrong though, if I have any glitter or sequins on my outfit you can find me where the light is watching the reflections!
