Albany Engagement Session – Jamie & DJ

Shout out to Empire Plaza in Albany, NY for having one of the most gorgeous backgrounds for engagement photos! When Jamie and I were planning her and DJ’s engagement session she knew, without a doubt that she wanted some photos around Empire Plaza. This place is special because she actually works in The New York State Museum! Plus these two met in Albany roughly 8 years ago so it was extra special!

Although Jamie has grown up in the Capital Region and lived here almost her whole life, DJ came from a small town. The exact same small town that I grew up in 2.5 hours away. Thank goodness for SUNY Albany, and a some help from their mutual friends, that allowed them to meet and live a life they love together!

A few days before their session, Jamie emailed me asking if it was okay if her sister joined them to be her personal stylist. Everyone should appoint themselves a personal stylist for their engagement photos because it was amazing! Julie hug out close by if we needed her but was at the ready if Jamie needed a little extra lipstick touch up! It was perfection!

These two were such goofballs and made each other laugh throughout the whole session. You could definitely feel the love between them! After walking and dancing around Empire Plaza and the Education Building we ventured off to Washington Park for a few more casual photos and an outfit change!

Truth be told, I have never actually been to Washington Park and was pleasantly surprised when we arrived! The sun was setting through the trees and kept the evening super dreamy for their photos. It was beyond magical around the pond with the tall grass and a perfect sunset!

Jamie and DJ were suppose to be married this October but thanks to Covid they decided to wait one year so all of their guests could be in attendance. October 2021 cannot come soon enough!
