I had been wanting to photograph a wedding at The Treman Center in Newfield, NY for quite a while. Not only was the venue more than I had imagined but Haley and Brandon’s wedding was on for the books!

There aren’t enough words in the dictionary for me to express truly how incredible Haley and Brandon wedding it was. I already had some of an idea that it was gonna be a day to remember! Just based on our in person interaction during their engagement session at Union College. But I have to say that my expectation for this day was blown out of the water! 

I’m not certain I can put into words just how rare, unique, and special, not only Brandon and Haley’s relationship is or how special the bond is that their two families share. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph well over 100 weddings. The family dynamic that these two individual families had is few and far between.

Both sets of parents gave a speech after dinner which emulated the love that they had for their own child, the person that third child is marrying, and the new family they welcomed! It’s one of those things that is pointless to try and describe. You just have to be around them in order to feel it.

The type of wedding they decided to have is one of my absolute favorites. Haley and Brandon focused more on the people they invited. They didn’t sweat the small stuff and allowed The Treman Center to display it’s natural beauty. At one point, Brandon mentioned that he knew every single person in attendance. Isn’t that what this is all about?! Marrying your best friend while being surrounded by the people you love the most in the world!

The Ceremony

I have to highlight Haley and Brandon’s ceremony for a moment. As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been to quite a few weddings. I have never hear someone perform a ceremony in the way that their officiant, Kris, did. She started by telling the story about how this couple met, which revolved all around music. Keeping with the theme of music she continued by telling their journey together throughout the last few years. Kris’s ceremony was filled with musical puns, laughter, and highlighted milestones that Haley and Brandon went though as a couple. It was outstanding! Throughout the rest of the day, I overheard so many people telling Kris what a fabulous ceremony is was. This is the perfect example of why having someone you love perform your wedding ceremony is an excellent idea!

To sum up Haley & Brandon’s wedding day in one word, it was perfect. We had beautiful sunshine all day long and a perfect golden hour glow. Haley and Brandon are just the sweetest and the way they look at each other takes your breath away. These two are incredible beautiful humans and being around them and their families was a blessing! I’m so grateful that they found each other and that I was lucky enough to have photographed their dream wedding day!
