5 Places to Visit on your trip to Punta Gorda, FL
TT’s Tiki Bar – This was so much fun! My mom, grandma and I walked here from our hotel (Springhill Suites in Punta Gorda) on a Thursday night just before the sun was about to set. There are tons of brightly colored lawn chairs placed in sand for you to leisurely sip on a tasty beverage, eat a little something and enjoy the Florida air. The sunset was incredible and once it got dark strung lights lit up the bar and palm trees.
Harpoon Harry’s – This phenomenal restaurant is located at the end of Fisherman’s Village right on the water. My recommendation is that you get a strawberry daiquiri to drink and a basket of Grouper, you can thank me later! You’re going to want to get there at 11am when it opens for lunch to get a good seat on the covered outside seating area that overlooks the water. Boats docked next to the restaurant and walk up for a yummy meal and we even saw dolphins jumping out of the water!
Manatee Park (Fort Myers, FL) – This place would have been amazing if we went during the right months. It was still beautiful to go walk around and all you had to pay for was parking. I believe February and March are the months to go and there will be so many manatees for you so see it’s wild! We went at the beginning of April and didn’t see any at all so make sure you look up on their website the best time to go.
Fisherman’s Village – Fishermans Village is a cute outdoor shopping area with some cute shops, fun bars, and amazing restaurants. This is where Harpoon Harry’s is located. There are also some walking and bike paths next to the water along with a dock full of boats you can walk around.
Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve – Put on some walking shoes and go do this! This preserve is one of the most beautiful things we discovered. It’s a boardwalk through a swampy area (a.k.a. Slough) where you can see animals such as birds, turtles, fish, alligators, and many others. It’s only 1.2 miles long and you can take your time walking through this picturesque preserve. Bring a bottle of water and maybe a snack because there is no place to get water during the walk.
Have fun!
